There’s a less primitive way to exfoliate your feet this summer, and it’s seriously citrus-y: The Nail Dimensions Lemon Crush Pedicure!
So, maybe you let your feet go just a little bit over the past long, hard winter. Maybe you even let the spring season fly by as you got out there, trying to catch up on everything you couldn’t do when the weather was cold. Where does that leave your feet now? I’ll tell you: Sad, with a capital “S”. You need a Lemon Crush Pedicure, stat!
You will enjoy five extra steps in this exfoliating service: a Lemon Tea Tree Soak, a Crystal Mineral Scrub, a Buttermint Buffing Scrub, White Tea Massage Lotion, and Ginger Root Moisturizing Lotion. The all natural, organic Spa Elements products used in this upgrade will soothe, hydrate, and rejuvenate your skin, leaving it with a soft, silky feel. It doesn’t get much better than that! (And then your tootsies will be beach-ready!)

Our FIFTH annual Cinco de Mayo fiesta is only four weeks from today! Dawn and I are meeting today to make our plans for the home stretch before the big event…
In the meantime, spots in our schedule are starting to fill up! Call us today if you want to make sure you can get in; more information to follow! Have a great Monday!

After an endless Winter, we are finally seeing signs of Spring. (We were starting to think we’d never see the sun again!)
One of the first signs of spring is an obvious jump in pedicure appointments. We’ve been getting more over the course of this week, and today is the first day where we have not one opening left! It probably has something to do with Spring Break, which starts after school today for the kids in our area, but nonetheless, I feel safe in declaring that Spring is officially here!
Everyone is currently busy with a wedding party; all four ped chairs are full and the room back there is buzzing with excitement. This wedding party in particular is special to us because the bride is the daughter of one of our long-time clients. It’s really great for us to be a small part of their family’s special occasion.
As we move into the busy season, I was asked to put out a reminder that if you would like to get French polish when you come in for a manicure, pedicure, or both, please tell us when you book the appointment. If it’s not put into the computer at that time, your nail technician might not have the time to do it “on the fly”. Thanks in advance; by doing that, you’ll be happy, and we’ll be happy: AND on schedule!
Whether you’re headed off for a great destination this Spring Break or you’re staying home hoping to get those closets cleaned out, have a great week!
Feeling a little of the deja vu here…It’s that time of year AGAIN! Our Fifth Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta is coming up quickly…this time it’s on a Monday; what a great way to start out the week!
In our constant quest to do it better every single time, we’re structuring our services a little differently. This year, we are only offering three services: Margarita Pedicures, Margarita Manicures, and Margarita Buff and Polishes. This will make it easier to schedule people in blocks and we should be able to serve more clients as well.
As always, we’ll have retail and gift card specials as well as a raffle…the list goes on and on!
The fiesta will take place Monday May 5, 2008 from 10:00 a.m.-9:30 p.m. We’ll have food and drink, loud Mexican music, and the usual cast of characters. It’s bound to be a great time and slots are filling up already, so call us today for an appointment! (630-653-7887)
Dawn and Nikki attended the Beauty Show yesterday and boy, did they have fun! Dawn came to work this morning in a whirlwind of brochures, samples, bags, and other stuff. (I know, I know…is that different from the way she normally comes in? Well, a little.)
She is really excited about a company called Young Nails. The two CEO’s (brothers) were at the show and Dawn said she watched them work their magic with pink and white enhancements for almost two hours. She has been practicing all morning and is really excited about the techniques that she learned. She also picked up some glitter that is used in the acrylic, and we’ve been playing with that today. That’s Katie’s nail, above, and although it is GORGEOUS, the photo really doesn’t do it justice. I guess that’s what happens when you use the “Photo Booth” program that is built into our iMac. Katie just held up her finger to the camera, and there you go!
I’m anxious to see what other goodies they brought back from the show…and then we’ll share them with you!

We’re supposed to get another 6 inches of snow this evening; this has been the “worst” winter in ten years. I want to know: What does “Worst” mean in this case? The most snow? The coldest? The most annoying? The most use of salt? The most accidents?
At any rate, spring is coming, soon. It’s time to schedule those Spring Break pedicures!

There’s a new craze in town, and it’s Pink and White Acrylic Enhancements, otherwise known as “Pink and Whites”!
Pink and Whites are great for many reasons, but what most clients love about them is that they have a “permanent” French Manicure. The acrylic is applied in two colors…can anyone guess which two? After the acrylic is applied, just a clear coat of gel sealant is brushed over the nails and–voila!–you’ve got a French Manicure that won’t rub off when you do a lot with your hands (like polish might). If you don’t want to have a French Manicure on any particular day, you can just paint over them with the color of your choice!
Pink and whites require a slightly different type of maintenance than regular clear acrylic nails do. You will still have to come in every two weeks, but every other appointment is for “Rebalancing Maintenance”. During a Rebalancing, the nail technician needs to re-do the white smile line because of nail outgrowth. Before you know it, your nails will be perfect again.
In honor of the Pink and Whites craze, Dawn is considering new employee uniforms:

What do you think?
Only in my dreams, that is.
After yesterday’s big thaw (40+ degrees!) and flooding all over the area due to the Chicagoland area’s frozen ground, we are now back to icy roads (black ice! we’re hating that!) and a mini-blizzard this morning in the Wheaton area. The temperature is supposed to make it all the way up to a balmy 28 degrees…
Hey, Mother Nature! Uncle! We’ve had enough winter and would like for Spring to make a real appearance!
Thank you.
I just got a phonecall from Dawn, who is working at home.
She said, “I forgot to tell you about the flower deliveries…”
Made me laugh!
